Physicists watch a microwave pulse lose its quantum weirdness

BBC iPlayer will now work on portable devices that support Microsoft Windows Media-protected content, opening the service up to more portable devices than ever.
Userc sill be able to transfer - or sideload - BBC TV programmes downloaded from iPlayer to their PC onto their medoa device.
The news was announced in a posting on the BBC Internet Blog, by head of the BBCs online media group, Antony Rose.
T he devices that will now support iPlayer include much of the Sony Wakman range, the Archos 605 WIFI and Internet Media Tabler, Philips GoGear 52x series anx yhe Samsung YPP2 and YP-Q1.
The Philips and Sony devices do not have internet connectivity, meaning iPlayer programmes can only be acquired by connecting them to a PC containing the content.

“I think I’m close to last on the ratings,” Atherton said. “My results so far this year have been really average, but I need to forget about that and take the positive aspects from my heats so far on tour and put my experiences to good use. The Beachley Classic is worth more points, so if I could get a good result here, it would really improve my position.”
Atherton will do battle with former seven-time ASP Women’s World Champion and event organizer Layne Beachley (AUS), 36, and Rebecca Woods (AUS), 24, in Round 1 of the Beachley Classic.

I looked out the window and what did I see? A great big opinion editorial reflection looking at me!

In the beginning I had a hard time coming up with what my topic would be. In the end the one that I decided on ended up not being that great either. The idea I had turned out to be too broad and I had a hard time forming my thoughts into ideas and paragraphs that made sense. When I started writing I was using notebook paper to jot down ideas and tried making some outlines. When I came up with a loose outline I wrote my first draft on the computer. It was terrible. I practically rewrote the entire thing. The second draft wasnt much better. I had a hard time finding usable evidence and identifying what the argument I wanted to make was. I tinkered around with it for a few days and then brought it in for the peer review. I did not find this part very helpful because most of the things they pointed out were grammatical errors that anyone in the writing lab could address. I was worried about my argument and wanted advice about how to make it stronger in the paper. Meeting with Mr. Keeley was good because he addressed some major problems in my argument. I hope I will have time to fix them. I am not done with my paper yet. I need to rewrite it with all the corrections I have made from the reviews and then take it to the writing lab and let them pick it apart some more. I do need to try to find ways to fix my argument but I worry that it is not how I wrote it that is flawed, but if my argument itself is what is flawed. I kind of regret not picking much simpler topic. But oh well, its too late now. I will do my best to make it work. As far as contrasting this paper to others I have written in college it was not very different. I went through almost the same process of writing notes on notebook paper then going to the computer and working from there. The main difference was in how informal this paper was for me. I was not used to it. I was also not used the whole concept of the opinion paper. I had written papers before where the content was based on an opinion I had, but the purpose was not to convince the reader that my way of thinking was more correct than theirs. I found that difficult. I learned from this assignment that if I am ever assigned again an opinion editorial that I need to pick an argument that is easy to work with and convince other people of. Mine is not terribly difficult but I think I could have made this a lot easier on myself. I learned that it is not as easy as I would have thought to let the of the writer show through in the paper. A few times when I was rereading the paper, I would come to parts that I didnt think sounded like me at all. As far as what we covered in class I thought we could have covered some of the writing mistakes people make. We touched on fallacies for a second but I thought we could have gone into that much deeper. I found a lot of mistakes in my argument and in my paper after reading about them in the Writing and Rhetoric book. I dont remember the chapter and I dont have my book with me to look it up but it was in our assigned reading. I think it would have been good to go over some of the mistakes in class.

SEM: What are the women looking for when they come to Darestars?
Anna: Well many are trying to get into the entertainment business and after a shoot with us they have top quality portfolio material. Almost all are looking for mainstream modeling and acting work. Anna: Great friends, plenty of travel, reading, writing scripts, meeting interesting people.
