Dreams Made Flesh is a collection of four stories from the world of the Black Jewels Trilogy. The first, Weaver of Dreams, is quite short, while the other three are novellas, each focusing on one of the main male characters from the series: Lucivar, Saetan and Daemon.

Finally, s Heart, my favourite of the stories, takes place after the events at the end of the trilogy, and for this reason I cant say much about it without spoiling the third book for those who havent read it. So Ill just say that we get to see Daemon, Sureal, Lucivar, Saetan and other old favourite characters, and that even though it has its dark moments, its ultimately a very sweet and satisfying story.

The mood of Dreams Made Flesh is somewhat different from that of the Black Jewels Trilogy. This has to do with the fact that what we have in this book are the stories behind the stories. What they give us a peek behind the curtains. And if Dreams Made Flesh is not quite as enthralling as the trilogy, its because what is at stake in these stories is never quite a matter of life or death.

These stories have their share of intrigue, but mostly you know from the start that everything will end up okay (with the exception of , when you know from the start that things will not be okay. Still, the horrifying details are very much a surprise). These stories are also much more explicitly erotic than the trilogy ever was. And while they are still dark fantasy, they are mostly made of those slower, less tense moments where you basically get to see the characters interacting with one another.

Which is fine by me, because thats exactly what I wanted from this book. I wanted to spend more time in this world, and Dreams Made Flesh allowed me to do just that. So while I wouldnt recommend it to newcomers to the series (not only because of the spoilers, but because if you dont already know the characters, it will be much less gripping), fans of the trilogy will most likely find this book a very satisfying read.

I just love spending time with the characters. I cant wait for Tangled Webs to come out in paperback.

BBC iPlayer will now work on portable devices that support Microsoft Windows Media-protected content, opening the service up to more portable devices than ever.
Userc sill be able to transfer - or sideload - BBC TV programmes downloaded from iPlayer to their PC onto their medoa device.
The news was announced in a posting on the BBC Internet Blog, by head of the BBCs online media group, Antony Rose.
T he devices that will now support iPlayer include much of the Sony Wakman range, the Archos 605 WIFI and Internet Media Tabler, Philips GoGear 52x series anx yhe Samsung YPP2 and YP-Q1.
The Philips and Sony devices do not have internet connectivity, meaning iPlayer programmes can only be acquired by connecting them to a PC containing the content.

Illinois resident Joshua Brown is suing the state of Tennessee for sending him a notice indicating he had a child in Tennessee with a female other than his wife.
Brown claims the state sent him a non-custodial parent delinquency notice on March 26 indicating he was responsible for past due child support.
"The Notice was discovered by his wife," states the complaint filed Oct. 7 in St. Clair County Circuit Court. "Mr. Brown's parents and in-laws learned of the Notice from his wife and also inquired."
Brown claims he "reassured all" that he was not having an extra marital affair that produced a child.
He claims he informed the state that it had the wrong person by pointing out the difference in middle initial and social security number, but the state persisted by notifying his employer. He claims he also received a notice that his income would be withheld for child support.
"Plaintiff's wife again saw these various documents again causing turmoil and strife in the home," the complaint states. "Plaintiff again tried to assuage his family's fears.
Brown claims he contacted an attorney after the state sent him a notice that his employer was being directed to add the Tennessee child to his health care plan.
He claims the correspondence eventually ceased when the state was "apparently satisfied" that it had the wrong man.
His suit seeks damages for defamation.
"This publication caused his pregnant wife and himself severe hardship, caused plaintiff to lose sleep, have constant anxiety, suffer humiliation, embarrassment, nervousness and mental pain and suffering," the complaint states.
"That Defendant knew or should have known of the falsity of such statements considering the different middle names and different social security numbers."
Brown is represented by Jarrod Beasly of the Kuehn Law Firm in Belleville.
He is seeking "an amount in excess of $50,000 for the damage to his reputation at work, at home and within his family, punitive damages and cost of this suit.
